Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Providing for the parts needs of walk-in and phone customers including external and internal Service Department customers. This is a safety-sensitive position. Employees holding this position are responsible for the safe performance of job duties.

  • Responding to customer parts or information requests quickly
  • Communicating with customers when a delay (Back Order) will occur and offering alternatives
  • Recording information carefully and identifying needed parts using most efficient method
  • Determining availability and price information
  • Providing part to customer from stock, procuring locally or creating parts order as directed
  • Operate Forklift to pull parts from inventory
  • Maintain accurate inventory by updating company inventory system
  • Correctly documenting and completing sale on parts invoice
  • Monitoring the status of customer orders, advising in case of problems, and notifying upon arrival
  • Maintenance of the Special-Order bins
  • Access Safety Data Sheets for proper clean-up and disposal of hazardous materials

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·       High School diploma or equivalent

·       Experience in automotive or truck parts/mechanics required

·       DOT Hazmat General Awareness Certification preferred

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·       Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·       Ability to work independently

·       Forklift Certification is preferred

·       Strict observance of all company safety policies and procedures

Physical Requirements:

·       Consistently lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

·       Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

·       Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone and in person

·       Must be able to bend, climb ladders, crawl, squat, kneel, reach and twist consistently
