Job Summary

Carolina International Trucks is looking to add a new Diesel Technician to their growing service department!

The Service Department provides high quality repairs and maintenance to our internal and external customers in a timely and efficient manner. Our technicians and support staff will continually participate in factory training programs to ensure the highest level of expertise in diagnosing and repairing the products we represent. This will assure us of profitable growth and the highest level of customer service.

Responsibilities

Example of job duties are as follows:

  • Perform work as outline don repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnosis' vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection
  • Communicates with other departments
  • Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
  • Road tests vehicles when required (CDL License is required within 90 days of start)
  • Consistently maintains training and education as assigned by management and participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Qualifications
  • Lifting in excess of 100 pounds is required.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and otherwise maneuver in and around heavy trucks.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand-held tools and equipment associated with repair work.
  • Must be able to work with a personal computer.
  • High school diploma required
  • Previous experience in diesel repair required
  • Will consider combination of education and experience
  • Commercial Drivers License preferred
  • Certification under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations required to operate a vehicle
Additional Information
  • Work is performed indoors in a shop facility and outdoors on the dealership lot.
  • Organization is a prime concern and every effort is made to insure a neat, clean and organized working environment.
  • Work is subject to temperature extremes. 
  • Will be working around hazards and chemical components outlined in the material safety data sheets available in the shop
